ATTORNEY

Attorney Michael R. Jarecki practices U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law throughout the United States and with U.S. consular posts worldwide. Michael has been selected as a "Rising Star" in the practice of immigration by the 2012 Illinois Super Lawyers®. This places Michael among the top 2 ½ percent of up-and-coming attorneys selected for 2012.

Michael is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), a professional immigration bar of nearly 11,000 attorneys and law professors. Due to Michael's knowledge of the complex and changing area of immigration law, he is a frequent speaker on business and family immigration law with community groups, lawyer peers, students, and news media.

Michael currently serves as a Member of the AILA Chicago Chapter’s Liaison Committee to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Chicago District Office and as Vice Chair to the AILA Chicago Chapter’s Liaison Committee to the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), whose jurisdiction covers admissions issues at Chicago’s O’Hare & Midway International Airports.

Michael also serves as Chair to AILA's National Working Group for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) immigration issues. Additionally, Michael founded the AILA Chicago Chapter's LGBT Committee, in which he served as Co-Chair from 2007 to 2009. Michael has the honor to serve on the Advisory Committee to Congressman Mike Quigley of Illinois' 5th Congressional District, advising on issues related to immigration and LGBT rights.

Michael is admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois and before United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Michael’s bar admission gives him authorization to practice federal immigration law throughout the United States and he currently represents clients throughout the country. He also serves as Immigration “Of Counsel” in the area of business immigration to a firm on the east coast.
